Education & Representation

Education Committee

The Education Committee is SUSU's main body for reporting and discussing academic issues, and steering SUSU's policy in all academic areas. The Education Committee meets once every three weeks during term time. All minutes from the committee go to Union Council for approval, so that all of SUSU's officers keep up to date with what's going on academically. Minutes from previous meetings can be found here.

The positions of members in the Education Committee are shown below and additionally, all Course Reps are encouraged to come along and voice issues arising from their schools.

  • VP Education and Representation (Chair)
  • Sites Officer
  • Winchester President
  • Postgraduate Officer
  • Nursing & Midwifery Officer
  • Mature Students' Officer
  • Part-time Students' Officer
  • 18 School presidents
  • 2 Council Reps

Committee Representation

Committee Reps are elected within the Union through Union Council. They sit on various committees within the University, raising the views of the students they represent in these committee meetings. This ensures that the University continues to work on behalf of the students and doesn't follow its own agenda.

Committee Reps are provided with the Committee Reps handbook, which provides them with important information, such as how to get the most out of meetings, and the important terms of reference of the committees that they are sitting on. Training is also available for Committee Reps; for more info email the VP Education.
